Data practices

How does this provider treat the data you send it? Advisory statements about documented practices — not legal advice.

Retention (API inputs/outputs)Zero data retention by default (zero operator access + ZDR security model): Bedrock does not store model inputs or outputs. Exceptions retain inputs/outputs up to 30 days for automated abuse detection (e.g. classifier-flagged traffic of certain hosted OpenAI GPT-5.x models; Claude Fable 5 retains up to 30 days). Setting data_retention_mode to 'none' enforces zero retention account/project-wide. source — Data retention modes table ('none': 'No request or response data is written to durable storage'); 'What data is retained and for how long' (30-day abuse-detection retention) (retrieved 2026-08-21)
Enterprise tierSome models (Claude Mythos 5, Claude Fable 5) require opting into provider_data_share, which retains and shares inference data with Anthropic for up to 30 days; full ZDR access for models requiring retention is evaluated per-account/per-model via the AWS account team. source — 'For Anthropic Claude Fable 5, inputs and outputs will be retained for up to 30 days ... you must opt in to sharing retained traffic with Anthropic'; ZDR access section of the data-retention page (retrieved 2026-08-21)
